Informed by ongoing site and context analysis, Barratt Redrow is preparing outline proposals for a landscape-led development to the west of Goose Lane, Lower Quinton.
The proposed development includes:
- Up to 150 beautifully crafted homes.
- Including homes from the company’s premium Redrow brand, featuring high-quality designs inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement.
- 35% of homes provided as affordable housing including shared ownership homes that would appeal to first time buyers.
- An opportunity to provide bungalows as part of the housing mix.
- A landscape-led approach to development, including the creation of extensive new areas of public open space with landscape planting, providing a permanent and enduring green boundary to maintain separation between Lower and Upper Quinton.
- Retention of existing mature trees and the vast majority of hedgerows, bolstered by additional planting.
- Existing public right of way on the site boundary retained and enhanced with connections to a new network of walking routes within the extensive new public open spaces.
- The provision of a parcel of land to facilitate the expansion of Meon Medical Centre, as well as an opportunity to connect the medical centre the foul drainage system proposed as part of the new development.
- Financial contributions to support local services and community infrastructure.
